The UK, or more specifically, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland… Having now lived here for over a decade, I find that I have indeed seen very little of it. Wherever you visit a country as a tourist, you see as much as you can in a limited time… sometime covering great distances in a rush to see as much as you can. But when you live there, it’s just around the corner, so there’s no rush… and then a decade later, you realise you really haven’t seen very much at all.
So, it’s time to get out there and see the little island in the Atlantic that at one point had one of the worlds biggest empires (and in turn, was invaded by just about every North European power at some point). The island where “Curry” is the most eaten dish, and contrasts don’t stop at cultural blends but go all the way. (no I don’t think I’m making any sense either)
Anyhow, no further beating around the bush! Here’s a list of things to do in the England (yeah, yeah – I come from a country where we don’t distinguish between England, Britain, UK and British Isles)
